JOB TITLE: CLINICAL NURSE MANAGER
Location: CIDP
Contract duration: 6 months
Reports to: Director of Care
PURPOSE
The main purpose of the role is to support the Management and nursing
team by providing Clinical Governance on all healthcare related
matters to ensure as an organisation we are providing best practise in
line with latest publications related to the Disability Sector. The
role of the CNM1 shall be to support the social care model by
overseeing the clinical needs of individuals/service users through
supporting and supervising the nursing staff in their clinical duties.
The CNM1 will be expected to embrace the ethos of St Joseph?s which
is to empower people to live self-directed lives and to be as
independent as possible while in SJH or being supported in the
community. The role of the CNM 1 will actively promote the rights of
the independent individuals living in the Community and St Joseph?s
House by ensuring they are fully involved in all aspects of their
healthcare assessments.
BELOW ARE THE MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY;
* Oversee and assist the delivery of the day to day clinical needs of
all individuals/service users residing in the community and SJH
* Be registered as person participating in management
* Ensure staff compliance with agreed standards of nursing care in
relation to statutory requirements, professional codes of conduct and
organisational policies and procedures
* Ensure the delivery of excellent person-centred clinical care and
support through evidence based knowledge to all individuals /service
users of the service when liaising with other healthcare professional
as part of a multi-disciplinary approach.
* Participate in staff compliance with medication management in
accordance with the medication policies for all individuals/service
users in the Community Service and SJH.
* Play an active role in staff and individual/service users
education and be actively involved in Health Education and Promotion
* Be aware of the confidential nature of work and in particular, the
rights of individual/service user?s confidentiality.
* Completion of monthly nursing rosters including holiday and sick
leave, to ensure adequate nursing cover
* Participate with the orientation of all new nursing staff to the
service
* Be responsible for the supervision and performance management of
Nursing staff reporting any concerns to the Director of Care
* Carry out auditing, development of policies and procedures and
oversee their implementation amongst the team.
* Oversee and ensure excellent Clinical Governance, Infection
Control, Falls and Risk Management
* Support the nursing and support team in administering medication
and other medical procedures
* Liaise with in house GP and any other medical practitioner as
required.
